General Manager
Privately owned precast/prestressed concrete manufacturer in Waverly, West Virginia is seeking a General Manager with proven leadership skills and experience in the strategic management of manufacturing operations. The position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations including planning, directing and executing the long term strategic objectives of the company. Requirements include 10 + years of experience providing disciplined, process-oriented, strategic leadership, as well as strong communication, personnel management and organization skills. A high degree of problem recognition and resolution skills are also required along with proven financial analysis and business development skills.
This position will be responsible for all aspects of the business including personnel and financial management of the process. An emphasis on financial skill and a broad experience base including federal contracts and private projects is preferred. Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Maintaining the appropriate organizational structure required to meet operational objectives by actively participating in external recruitment efforts and the development of existing staff
- Provide strategic leadership by actively developing internal and external relationships which foster a productive working environment
- Development and execution of the company's business development and sales strategy including planning, monitoring and maintaining the appropriate mix of project back log
- Monitoring and maintaining optimum project performance from all facets including safety, quality, and financial performance using quantifiable metrics
- Management and allocation of company resources needed to fulfill project requirements including capital assets and personnel
- Management of operations personnel including periodic performance reviews
- Maintaining appropriate levels of communication across all levels of the organization
- Participation in process development to ensure company to company operations are streamlined and efficiently executed
- Monitoring and maintaining the accuracy and quality of project information and reporting including budgets, schedules and cost data
- Establishing and maintaining operational goals and objectives that ensure success of strategic business objectives
- Pursue a culture of safety that is best in class. Actively engage with the workforce to reinforce safe behaviors and to promote positive preventative measures to ensure the health and safety of employees.
- Participates in industry associations as a representative of Company. Promotes Company's interests and communicates in a manner which upholds Company as a good corporate citizen.
- Reports to the local concrete General Manager.
Education & Work Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in business, engineering, or construction management, is preferred. Post graduate degree is a plus
