Robert (Bob) Pabst
Robert (Bob) Pabst leads Sidley Precast Group’s overall operations, providing executive oversight for the division’s precast concrete products offering, professional services, research and development, sales, marketing, and other strategic initiatives. Bob offers over 30 years of experience in the construction industry; half spent in construction management and the other half spent in precast. He joined R.W. Sidley in February 2021 as General Manager and was appointed Vice President in January 2022.
Bob began his career in New York City, holding various titles at construction management and general contracting companies. He gained diverse market segment experience as Project Superintendent, Project Manager, Project Executive, Preconstruction Manager, and Vice President. Bob ventured into the precast industry in 2004, serving as Vice President of Oldcastle Precast’s Northeast Building Systems Division. In that role, he established an effective business operating model while assuming multiple financial, contractual, and management responsibilities. In 2014, Bob joined High Concrete Group as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where he energized the company to promote and sell a more robust blend of products, resulting in record sales and strategic market growth.
Over the years, Bob has been actively engaged with the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) in different capacities. He served as a PCI Board Member and was President of a regional chapter for several terms. Bob also served on the organization’s Marketing Council, Financial Risk Committee, and other committees and task groups. In the communities in which Bob has lived, he has served as a zoning board member. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology from the New York Institute of Technology.
Bob is a motivational leader who likes being part of a team, allowing him to learn from others and coach them in return. He finds it rewarding to work at R.W. Sidley, where he says many good people are employed throughout the company. When asked to share his favorite advice, Bob replied, “Listen more, talk less.”
When Bob is not developing business strategies at Sidley, he enjoys spending time with family, reading, fly fishing, camping, hiking, golfing, or cooking.
