Concrete Quality Control / Lab Manager

Scott Malinowski

As R.W. Sidley’s Concrete Quality Control / Lab Manager, Scott Malinowski ensures our ready-mix concrete and precast concrete products meet or exceed company, Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA), U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), state, local, and industry standards.

Scott began his career at R.W. Sidley in 1987, initially working in our Precast Division before assuming the role as Lab Manager in 2002. He performs a variety of tests on concrete and aggregate materials that support the development and improvement of our company’s new and existing specialty mixes. Scott assists project managers, engineers, and contractors by preparing mix design submittals that verify batch slump, air content, unit weight, absorption, and other properties. He also acts as company representative for large-scale concrete and supply projects, bringing a high level of quality management oversight from initial planning through final construction.

Scott’s hands-on approach allows him to witness open fields become transformed into large commercial buildings and massive bridges, which he considers one of the most rewarding parts of his job. He likes working with R.W. Sidley’s regular customers and meeting new companies looking for proven structural performance solutions. Scott holds multiple industry certifications, including American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing and Concrete Strength Testing, Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) Level 1 and 2, and Ohio Aggregates & Minerals Association (OAIMA) Level 1 and 2.

When Scott is not anticipating and fulfilling concrete needs, he enjoys spending time with his wife and grandchildren, fishing, and dining at new restaurants.
