Mike Mongell

Mike Mongell oversees the sales of R.W. Sidley’s silica sand, gravel, and filter media products. However, when asked what his professional role is, his answer is to maintain and grow customer relationships. It’s a little-known fact that Mike started his career in the business bagging and screening sand. That early hands-on experience helped him gain thorough technical knowledge of silica sand and gravel.

Mike’s problem-solving aptitude, strong communication skills, and natural ability to connect with others earned him a position in sales. He excels at identifying what’s most important to customers and offering solutions that make their projects more successful. Mike has a genuine desire to help companies achieve excellence. After 16 years in the industry, Mike remains passionate about what he does. His favorite quote belongs to Thomas Edison: “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always try just one more time.”

In Mike’ time off, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful, blended family. Mike will tell you he’s pretty much a girl dad, having five daughters and one son. He jokes that his “Brady Bunch” has taught him tremendous patience. Mike’s kids are all fans of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, and The Ohio State Buckeyes, which stems from his love of all sports.
